Customise local climate action

Do what works for you: Your team can meet when you want, where you want, and work on whatever local issue/s you want! If you want to have a movie night with the kids while you plan how to get a local business to divest, or meet at the pub for a Sunday arvo ‘Bevvie + Brainstorm’, you can! Choose the issue that you’re most passionate about: Got a bee in your bonnet about the protection of native animals? Want to get your shopping strip to eliminate single use plastics? Want Council to take more action on litter in our creek? Get a team going – or join a current team! Improve your own neighbourhood: Work on projects and campaigns that will directly benefit your area! Work with locals and see the difference you can make!

Build your sense of connection & your well-being! 

Meet other locals: You can get active with your neighbours and engage in local events: Whether you ask to be teamed up with new people, hop onto a support Zoom meeting, attend a workshop, or join us for a picnic, we have lots of opportunities to meet new people! Tap into the local climate scene: You can be part of a network, knowing what all the other climate groups are up to in your local area, and all support each other. Build a resilient community: By strengthening your community you can build a resilient community for the future – together, we’ll build the connections and skills, and make the changes we need in order to live in a warming climate.

Be empowered & supported

Build your knowledge and skill set: Join the NUCA community and access our free bi-monthly Community Climate Action Series (complete with home-baked afternoon tea!), and other workshops, forums & opportunities. Team support: Our NUCA Organisers will help build your team, and support you along the way with regular check ins and lots of resources to get you going! Campaign support: You can get support from the NUCA Organisers on how to run campaigns, lead teams and take climate action.
