We are an Extinction Rebellion Victoria local group based in Darebin. We are a fully autonomous local XR group which does not answer to any central authority. However, we sometimes opt in to movement-wide campaigns. We desire to halt mass extinction and minimise the risk of social collapse caused by runaway global boiling.
The purpose of our group in to compel government to meet our three demands: i) that government(s) declare a climate and ecological emergency; ii) that government act to halt biodiversity loss and halt greenhouse emissions as soon as possible and iii) that government create and be led by the decisions of a Citizens’ Assembly.
We are non-violent. We promote a regenerative culture. We openly challenge ourselves and our toxic system.
