Village Greening
Location: Fairfield Commitment level: One-off/Ongoing In person or online? It depends!
Village Greening is a group of Fairfield locals who wish to cultivate a sustainable and vibrant community where residents, traders, and shoppers work together to create an eco-friendly haven. We provide relevant information to shoppers and traders, and opportunities for practical action to make eco-friendly choices when shopping. We have a core group of 4 organisers.
Our special interests include…
Community days with activities demonstrating positive action towards waste reduction; providing fabric shopping, produce and bread bags in participating stores; working with the traders to encourage and promote eco-friendly practices.
Join us with…
- Sewing or cutting fabric bags to keep a supply in participating shops – an ongoing task.
- Helping to organise community days (1-2 times per year).
- Creating posters or social media postings.
- Encouraging traders to go greener.
- Educating store staff on greener options.
- Other ideas to make our village greener!

committed to our goals, optimistic, reliable, and realistic about what you can offer. We want hands-on people who are doers, and you’re preferably a Fairfield shops regular.
