NUCA: Neighbours United for Climate Action - Hot Planet Matchmaking Service

NUCA is a grassroots climate action community group based in Melbourne’s northern suburbs. We’re all about connection and action for the climate.

NUCA aims to create a vibrant, diverse, and empowered network of local action groups, sharing resources, supporting each other’s campaigns, inspiring great momentum, and creating the change we want to see in the world from a grassroots level.

The dates we’d love to take you on include…

Many things! Maybe you want to join or set up a NUCA team so you can take action on your chosen issue (think weeding, regen, political advocacy, whatever tickles your fancy) in the way that suits you (at the local dog park, at the pub, in your parents’ group, wherever & however tickles your fancy). We’ll support and amplify your efforts; and/or connect you with campaigns and groups already tackling your chosen issue so that you can support their efforts. Every action – small to large – helps grow the movement!

We’re also social and we love a good piping-hot pot of soup (but we’d never hold it against you if you can’t make a meet up – we’re all busy bees)!

We’re interested in someone who…

…is hot for climate action! We love people who have a burning passion, and are fun and optimistic. We love each other as much as we love taking climate action.

You don’t need any special skills or experience to match with us! Just some initiative and whatever time you can give (no matter how little). If you want to contribute to the core organising group, we’d especially love anyone with experience in (or enthusiasm to learn) newsletter writing and social media. Or maybe you want to help us with our latest project – the Hot Planet Matchmaking Service!
