This is a group for parents in Darebin and Merri-Bek who want to take part in family-friendly climate action! The group originated at Newlands Primary School, but you can be a parent or carer at any school, or really anyone who wants to take climate action! The only thing is that we generally work on activities which suit a parenting/caring schedule.
We desire…
to take climate action in a family-friendly way, and protect our kids from the climate crisis.
We’ll take you on all kinds of dates!
Gardening/weeding, school-related projects, lobbying of politicians, letter writing, screen printing, community get togethers, supporting other climate groups, going to rallies, etc.
We’d love people who…
would like to be lead organisers and help lead this group! But otherwise anyone is welcome to get involved and we will stay in touch via a WhatsApp chat. We’re mostly parents and carers, but anyone is welcome.
The people we’re into are…
committed, kind, fun, friendly, sociable. You might have skills in social media, community organisers, campaigners, creatives, marketing, outreach, or just want to dip your toes in some climate action. We meet up at irregular times; when we find a time that suits some of us.
