If we were a dish…
we would be mashed potato.
If we were an animal…
we would be plankton.
If we were a plant…
we would be the yam daisy.
If we were a dance…
we would be the boogaloo.
Our golden rule is…
connect, respect and create.
C4C is a national group that aims to educate Australians regarding climate change and effective actions (with a strong leaning towards systemic/political changes). It operates a conversation program in which trained facilitators run sessions in people’s homes (and elsewhere) and an MPEG (MP engagement) program which provides resources and support to help people engage with their MPs (federal, state and local).
We’re run by a volunteer Board (and a few part-time staff). We train facilitators for the conversation program and conversations occur across Australia. We also have local MPEG groups in most states. Each MPEG group has a local leader and we encourage people to start their own (we provide support and resources as needed).
We believe that through conversation with trusted others, individuals gain understanding and a sense of empowerment. When provided with the right framework and resources individuals can join together to take effective action.
to empower Australians to participate in democratic dialogue and advocate for effective climate action. We want an Australia in which climate action is a top priority. Imagine an Australia where effective climate action is embedded into all societal, cultural and economic structures. Community, business and government unite to make the courageous and urgent changes needed to restore a safe climate. It is an essential factor in all decision-making.
inclusivity, creativity and sharing. We value open and clear communication and uphold a culture of respect and integrity. We believe in balancing the urgency of the climate crisis with optimism, which helps sustain our resilience and motivation. This approach not only strengthens our work but also allows us to advocate with a sense of hope and enthusiasm.
